So you are having problems with your Dell PC. Do you go to dell.com and click the button that says "support," or do you go to Google, fashion some kind of search, go to a random link, and ask your question?

If you are stupid, you do the latter.

The universe, toying with me, brought someone named "Chuck" to this page, which in some kind of crystal meth-induced blur appeared to him to be the right place to ask a computer question:

yes i've gotta question i have a 8200 dell pc and wanna no what will happen if one of the cooling fans burned up when useing and what would happened i didn't know one burned up .ty

I suppose that if Chuck sent this question, I must be Dell support, right? Here is the response we sent. Who says large corporations don't provide good service anymore?

Chuck, listen to me carefully: step away from the computer.

It appears that your PC fan is very much defective. So much so that it has effected your spell checker. You also appear to have a virus that is inserting advertisements for the Beanie Babies into your e-mail. This is quite odd.

Please call your local fire department. Have them thoroughly douse the computer with water. If the flames persist, smother them with a blanket. Then unplug your PC. Then send it to us (don't worry, we'll pick up the shipping costs). It is vitally important that you not use the PC, as the burned up cooling fan could come loose from its bearings and shoot through the side of your trailer.

We are very concerned for your well-being, Chuck.

Once we receive your computer and complete our examination, we will send a replacement. Rest assured that this is all covered by your warranty.
