I have the Shure E3c (upgrade from the E2c). While there is a difference between the two you really start getting into the law of diminishing returns when jacking them into an iPod. IMO, the iPod just does not have good enough output to justify $500+ cans.
I forgot to check what was the impedance of those earbuds. If I were a real geek, I'd use a headphone amp. But I don't want to walk around with all that crap.
