CBGB my be priced out of The Bowery. That is fucking sick.
The East Village and the Lower East Side need a strong neighborhood association with better control over development. It is turning into a shit socialite scene down there.

Wow. That REALLY sucks. I spent every Sunday from age 19 - 21 at CB's for the $5 hardcore matinee. Drinks were 40 oz from the bodega across the street (which is now a furniture store IIRC). There was a crack den next store and once there was an all out war between the hardcore kids and crackheads.
The LES sucks now. You get yuppies next to weirdo goatsee-ear kids. It's lost its edge, now it's just annoying. Gonna miss CBs even though I don't think I have been there in over 10 years.
