Kertesz
Oooh -- I almost missed this. The Silverstein Gallery has put up a show of André Kertész polaroids.
Kertész is, perhaps, my favorite photographer, and his polaroids are not too widely shown. A master of what might be called "the melancholy," his polaroids exude a longing and sadness that really gets me. Many of these photographs, shot after his wife's death, are projected portraits of her or of himself.
Great stuff; a real treat to see so many of these photos collected together.
I'll probably stop by the gallery on Saturday. Anyone else interested?
