"TSA has taken significant steps to enhance the nation's transportation and aviation security over the course of the past two years, and TSA continues to have the confidence, not only of nation's air travelers, but of departmental leadership, to continue in this important mission," said Brian Roehrkasse, a Homeland Security spokesman. Are we on the same planet? What, exactly, has the TSA really done?
Hired an army of employees of questionable effectiveness, largely from the ranks of private screeners already working in the airports? Detained U.S. senators claiming they were terrorists? Forced women to drink their own breast milk? Spent billions to create an enormous federal agency while the government was doing less and less to find the few people responsible for recruiting and training the hijackers?
Billions of dollars spent to replace a private industry, only to suggest putting responsibility for security back in the hands of the private firms? This is unspeakably wasteful.

Eeeeew. Yech.
I'm sure we've all had one of those nights where our partner whispers sexily into your ear, "I want you to cut off some of my hair, stuff it into this mitten, and give it a good rogering." But, wow, you really do have to ask.
